Salem State Hockey Will Play at Fenway

Here are the five things you need to know before you start your day in Salem.

Today is Thursday, May 30, and here are the five things you need to know:

1. It should be a beautiful day in Salem. The National Weather Service is predicting that local residents can expect it to be mostly sunny, with a high near 84. Tonight should be mostly clear, with a low around 62. (sunrise, 5:09 a.m.; low tide, 10:08 a.m.; high tide, 4:32 p.m.; sunset, 8:12 p.m.)

2. Salem State University announced Wednesday that Fenway Sports Management has selected the college's men's ice hockey team to compete outdoors at Frozen Fenway 2014 this winter. The Vikings will take on the UMass Boston Beacons sometime between Dec. 28 and Jan. 13.

3. Salem High School's boys' varsity lacrosse team was defeated by Newton North 12-4 Wednesday night and was bounced from the playoffs. Congratulations on a great season!
