Lobster Shanty's YMCA Fundraiser a Hit

Here are the five things you need to know before you start your day in Salem.

Today is Thursday, June 13, and here are the five things you need to know:

1. It should be a pleasant day in Salem. The National Weather Service is predicting that local residents can expect it to be partly sunny, with a high near 63. Tonight should be cloudy, with a low around 50. (sunrise, 5:05 a.m.; low tide, 9:04 a.m.; high tide, 3:22 p.m.; sunset, 8:21 p.m.)

2. The Lobster Shanty staff and crew raised more than $4,000 for the Salem YMCA’s Y For All campaign at an event Sunday that drew more than 100 people to the Front Street restaurant. The fundraiser is a tradition started by William Legault years ago that raises money to help ensure that "everyone, regardless of income or background, has the chance to learn, grow and thrive," according to release.
