The following is an excerpt from the Sunday and Monday logs. Police responded to a report of kids throwing objects from the second floor of a residence. They also responded to a dog fight and fight between customers at .

Sunday

  • At 1:57 p.m. Sunday, police responded to Target on Highland Avenue after it was reported customers were fighting.
  • A dog fight was reported on Lafayette Street at 2:31 p.m. Sunday. Police said two separate people were walking their dogs on Lafayette Street when their dogs attacked each other. Both reported injuries, police said. Officers said one dog was on a leash and another was not. The dogs were in their respective homes when police arrived. The injuries did not require the attention of a vet, police said.
  • At 2:35 p.m. Sunday, it was reported steel was hanging from a Hawthorne Boulevard roof. Police said the checked the steel, and there was not a problem. 
  • Authorities said they received a call about an elderly man slumped over in a motor vehicle on Essex Street. Police said they checked on the man and he was fine — he had just fallen asleep while reading the newspaper.
  • Police responded to a Margin Street business at 3:16 p.m. Sunday. Officials said there was nothing missing, but someone had tried to break into the business by prying the main entrance sliding glass door.
  • Police responded to the at 3:34 p.m. Sunday after it was reported there was an outside band playing. The owner presented officers with a license, which stated entertainment was allowed April through October "with limited amplification." Police said the owner agreed to turn down the amplification of the music.
  • At 5:34 p.m. Sunday, police said they received a call about two suspicious males hanging out in front of a Jefferson Avenue residence. Officers said the men were waiting for friends to show up.
  • Police responded to Barton Street at 6 p.m. Sunday on a report of a dog barking. When they arrived, police said a six-month-old pitbull was in the backyard barking. Police said the owner was asked to bring the dog inside.
  • Police responded to the at 6:08 p.m. Sunday after it was reported an undesirable male was at the establishment. The owner informed the officer a particular individual refused to leave when he was asked. Police said the male "has been extremely unruly toward staff and customers on several occasions." The owner said the staff refused to serve the man and did not want him to come back. Police said the owner did not want a no trespass order. The man was sent on his way.
  • At 7:23 p.m Sunday, police responded to after it was reported there was a fight. Police said two females were arguing over who cut whom in the check-out line. Officers said "both females blamed the other for starting the fight." One of the women sustained a cut on the bridge of her nose as a result of the argument. Police said the woman refused medical treatment.
  • Police received intelligence about drug activity on Rainbow Terrace at 8:21 p.m. Sunday.
  • At 8:45 p.m. Sunday, police said they received a report about youths throwing objects into traffic from the porch of an Essex Street residence. Police said kids were throwing ice from a porch during a sixth grader's birthday party. Officers said the adult at the residence "apologized for the kids' actions and closed the door to the porch to end the situation."
  • At 11:32 p.m Sunday, police responded to a fight, possibly involving firearms on Park Street. Police said the caller reported she heard someone say "gun."

  • Adam Parsons, 18, of 53 Baldpate Rd., in Georgetown, was arrested on a charge of breaking and entering with intent to commit a crime, malicious destruction of property over $250 and conspiracy.

  • Monday at 6:18 a.m., police responded to the after it was reported a window was smashed.
  • At 8:16 a.m. Monday, police responded to Moffat Road after it was reported lawn work was started too early.
  • On Monday, police said a briefcase with a personal computer was found on Dodge Street. Police said there were no documents in or identifying marks on the case.
