Salem Bracing for More Snow this Weekend
Salem may end up getting between four and eight inches of snow this weekend.
The snow from the Blizzard of 2013 may be melting, but don't go putting the shovels away just yet - this weekend is bringing us more snow.
A new snowstorm is headed our way for Saturday and Sunday, and Salem could end up seeing another 8 inches of snow before it's done.
On his blog, WHDH meteorologist Pete Bouchard is calling for light rain along the coast Saturday with snow inland and snow everywhere by Sunday morning. There may also be some coastal flooding.
"Heavy snow through early morning Sunday. Roads will be tough to travel, and yes, your flight will most likely be delayed or cancelled. (Although I don't run an airline, so I'll let them have the final word.)," Bouchard writes.
As of now, forecasts call for 4 to 8 inches to fall along the shoreline.
If you're planning to stock up for the storm, you may want to do that as soon as possible. Just before our last snowstorm, Market Basket was so crowded that firefighters had to respond after learning that hundreds of people were waiting in long lines.
So, if you'd like to avoid long lines and all that stress, consider gearing up for this next round of snow sometime today - before the mad rush begins.

Some times I wonder if "like the last storm," that the pending storms are not hyped up a wee wee little bit just to boost up our local economy and sales?

Another weekend with bleeding hearts complaining about the plowing, trashing the mayor, and complaining about the sidewalks not being shoveled, and of course the parking ban. What can be better than that?

Better than that would be clean, well plowed walks where elderly and infirm folks can walk without fear and anxiety and homeowners don't have to worry about getting sued by someone falling on slippery sidewalks.

Oh Bob," I know you love me." You have become a "one name wonder of comments." I will clear my walkway after a snowfall "that is from an act of god" but clearing it after an unnecessary act of a plow driver? Nah, another act of god will clear the walkways for me, as Spring rain is right around the corner.

Drink hot toddies and go sledding. Who knows when you'll get another chance to?

Every time there is a snow storm the blue flashing light on top the pedestrian lights go on as they should, on Tremont st near the store parking lot but why are those pedestrian lights "ON" a constant green light for years now and sometimes flashing "go" when less than 50 feet away there is a stop sign? It might explain why people seem to speed up "Thinking they are out beating a changing to red light" only to skid to a stop at the sign. It also might explain why only one out of 5 cars even stop at the sign.

A waste of energy and another waste of taxpayers money.
