The primary election is here; polls are open today from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The hottest race will undoubtedly be the race for the 2nd Essex District Senate seat.
Locals Edward Carroll, Joan Lovely, Mary-Ellen Manning and John Slattery will be facing off for a chance to face republican challenger Richard Jolitz in November.
