UPDATED: Beautifying for the Holidays

Welcome to "About Town," your guide to all that you need to know and all the juicy tidbits you may have missed.

The Boutique

Yesterday this new shop was closed when I stopped by, but I can't wait to check out all of the festive frocks that The Boutique has to offer. Nestled between Aveda and Two Girls Shop, this new store was a joy to window shop. It looks like they have tons of sparkly items and chic dresses to take care of all of your holiday party needs.

Hostess gift!

You can't show up at a party empty-handed, a hostess gift is always much appreciated. Wine or spirits are always a good choice. I stopped by Quality Liquors to pick up a few bottles for my hostess this weekend. While I was there, I also found out that they carry Cream, a new alcohol infused whip cream. It's available in many flavors including vanilla, caramel, and chocolate and I'm sure it would be the perfect addition to the right kind of party.

Snip, Snip

If you are like me, you have a slew of holiday parties to attend in the next few weeks. With that in mind, I thought it would be good to do a bit of beautifying. I started off with a trip to the Radiance Aveda Salon for a haircut. This was my first trip to this salon. They paired me up with Kayley, and I left with a fabulous new bob. My favorite thing about my new salon is the complimentary mini facial they give you while they shampoo! I may actually start getting my hair trimmed every 6 weeks like I am supposed to just for that!

Tone it Down

I then headed right down the street to Rouge. My cheeks get very rosy, which is great as long as your last name is Claus. The ladies helped me try a variety of products including a Stila Tinted Moisturizer. I settled on the Bare Minerals Original SPF 15 Foundation, a powder product that you can layer on.

Accessorize

After making my purchase, I stopped into Two Girls Shop. While I have decided to wear items already hanging in my closet to the holiday parties I thought a new accessory couldn't hurt. I tried on all kinds of baubles, sparkly bracelets, beaded necklaces, and pretty rings. There were too many great items to choose just one, so I headed home to take a look at my outfit choices before making a decision.

The Pain is Worth It

Before my first party this Saturday, I'm stopping by Laura Lanes Skin Care to take care of my eyebrows. They offer all kinds of yummy services, but brow waxing with Laura herself is what I go back for again and again. I have found that it is true, shaping your brows can open up your entire face.
