Assault With Bag of Beans Reported in Wal-Mart Lot
The following is an excerpt from the Salem Police. Where charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.
The Salem Police responded to the following calls and made the following arrests on Sunday and Monday.
Sunday, Sept. 23
4:37 p.m. — A solicitor inside a building was reported on Heritage Drive.
5:01 p.m. — Police received a call there were possibly dead dogs outside on Lyme Street. Officers spoke with a person "who seemed okay and oriented to time and place," but the person was "seeing things that did not appear to be accurate," police said. Police said elder services is involved.
7:51 p.m. — Police responded to a road rage incident at Wal-Mart. Police said after a brief investigation it was determined a woman would be summonsed to court on a charge of assault with a bag of beans.
10:10 p.m. — A dispute between neighbors was reported on Mason Street.
11:36 p.m. — People yelling and slamming doors were reported on Highland Avenue.
Monday, Sept. 24
12 a.m. — An unarmed robbery/past mugging was reported near the intersection of Norman and Margin streets.
8:55 a.m. — Vandalism to construction equipment was reported on Larch Avenue.
9:49 a.m. — Police received a call from a Market Basket employee who said he is being harassed by a female co-worker.
12:42 a.m — Police said a Ravenna Avenue caller reported her home is for sale and it was listed as "for rent" on Craigslist.
3:02 a.m. — A person possibly trying to lure a child into a vehicle was reported on Castle Road.
Monday Arrests
Dennis Elswick, 35, of 43 Boston St. was arrested on a charge of operating a vehicle after a license suspension. He were also arrested on a warrant.
Luigi Francis Fernandez, 22, who is listed as homeless, was arrested on charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
Calvin B. Freeman, 27, of 26 Cummings Highway in Mattapan was arrested on a charge of violation of a protective order.
Eduardo Gomez, 39, of 111 Memorial Park in Lynn was arrested on charges of operating without being licensed and a red light or stop sign violation.
Andrew Rivera, 31, of 13 High St. was arrested on a warrant.
