'American Horror Story' Season 3 May Be Set in Salem

The third season of the Emmy-award winning FX series may focus on The Salem Witch Trials.

Get ready Salem - the third season of the Emmy-award winning FX series 'American Horror Story' may be focused on the Salem Witch Trials.

Dylan McDermott, one of the stars of the first two seasons of the show, recently hinted to E! that the upcoming season will center on the witch trials, according to this Huffington Post article.

When E! asked McDermott if he thinks Kathy Bates is "perfect" for the upcoming season, he reportedly said: "She really is. All the witches of Salem…there's plenty of them!"

Many "American Horror Story" fans began speculating that Salem would be the subject of Season 3 after creator Ryan Murphy told viewers there was a hint about the upcoming season in last season's episode, titled "The Name Game."

During the episode, a juke box played the 1950s classic "I Put A Spell On You."

Murphy has been tight-lipped the specifics, but he did tell Entertainment Weekly in January: "I sorta feel like for the third version I want to do something that’s a little bit more 'evil glamour' ... We're contemplating shooting [Season 3] in a place in the country where true horror has been. We’ve got lots of delicious plans."

What do you think about the prospect of having the Salem Witch Trials be the focus of the series' third season? Do you watch American Horror Story?

Set in Salem or FILMED in Salem?
I hate when things are set in Salem (or Boston or other local destination) and they're filmed in Vancouver... or some other non-New England location that looks NOTHING like it

I'm pretty sure that for now, it is going to be set in Salem. I haven't heard of any requests to film in the city.

I LOVE this show! Yes Salem would be perfect! Maybe a bit more horrid mental asylum with bodies in the walls and floors and more horrid experiments. A lot more evil. When does season 3 come out?

The Salem Witch Trials are the perfect setting for this show; I can’t wait to see how scary it will be. During the wait for this season, I am really glad that I can always go back and watch the second season I recorded on my DISH Hopper. I always use the 2,000 hours of storage space to stay caught up with the shows I watch, so I don’t fall behind with my late work schedule at DISH. I love being able to come home and watch the shows I missed, and watching the last season of AHS, will make the wait to see the third much easier.

Are any of you a Salem native? We are a Maritime city. This propagada on witch garbage makes me sick. Our waterfront is boats, water, and fishing, NOT witches!!
