Salemites and visitors gathered on Derby Wharf Saturday afternoon to welcome home The Friendship.
Salem's ship has been undergoing maintenance and renovations in Fairhaven since October.
Remaining maintenance to the ship, which will begin later this summer, will be completed in Salem, according to Public Information Officer John Parker of the Salem Maritime National Historic Site.
Social Palates, headed by John Andrews, organized a photo flash mob of the ship's arrival in port.
