Hundreds of North Shore residents took a polar plunge Sunday in Beverly and Salem.
It was a chilly 27 degrees when hundreds of North Shore residents dipped into the Atlantic Ocean at both Winter Island Park in Salem and Lynch Park in Beverly during the seventh annual Polar Plunge Sunday afternoon.
The annaul event benefits Salem's North Shore Community Development Coalition and the River House in Beverly.
