5 Things to Start the Day: June 5

Here are some tidbits from about town.

  1. On May 31, Salemite and retired Col. Robert Nersasian, US Army, attended the District 1 Change of Command Ceremony at Faneuil Hall in Boston. Check out William Legault's photo from the event attached to this article
  2. We're pleased to announced Mayor Kim Driscoll will be holding a live chat with us at noon on Thursday. Be sure to get your questions ready and mark your calendar.
  3. Check out the latest blog post from Sarah Zimman here. Sarah's home was destroyed by a fire in March. We're glad everyone is safe and sound, and she's back to writing!
  4. Did you have any flooding last night? Be sure to add any photos to our gallery here.
  5. Area firefighters recently ran in a 5K run to benefit the family of Peabody Firefighter Jim Rice, who died in the line of duty on Dec. 23, 2011. We saw some Salemites representing in Peabody Patch's online album. Check them out here
