$10K Worth of Aluminum Stolen in Salem

$10,000 worth of aluminum was reportedly stolen from behind the Salem Glass Co.

Local detectives are searching for a man who reportedly stole $10,000 worth of aluminum from the back of the Salem Glass Co. last month.

At 11:20 a.m. Thursday, police responded to the Technology Way business after receiving word that a man had been caught on surveillance camera stealing aluminum extrusions from the rear of the building.

The theft reportedly took place on Feb. 23.

Although the metal was stored in a fenced-in area behind the building that was secured with padlocks, the thief allegedly cut two holes in the fence to gain access to the aluminum, which was stacked in 10' and 12' lengths.

Salem Police Department detectives are now investigating the theft.

Salem Patch will post additional information as it becomes available.
